Before You Begin
Before installing the Line2 Windows app, confirm the following:
- You have administrator rights on your computer.
- Your firewall, antivirus, or security software allows Line2 to run.
- You have an active Line2 subscription that includes desktop app access.
- Your computer has a working microphone and speaker or headset.
- You have a stable internet connection.
Note: Line2 uses VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) technology. Call quality depends on your internet connection and audio device configuration.
Download and Install Line2
Install the Windows App
- Download the latest Windows version of Line2.
- Run the installer.
- Follow the on-screen installation instructions.
- Launch the application after installation is complete.
- Sign in using your Line2 phone number and password.
Sign In to the App
After installation:
- Open the Line2 application.
- Enter your Line2 number.
- Enter your password.
- Click Sign In.

Configure Audio Settings

Speakerphone Input Device
Select the microphone used during calls.

Speakerphone Output Device
Select where call audio is played.

Mic Echo Control
Adjusts how much microphone echo cancellation is applied during calls.
If callers hear an echo, try increasing this setting.
USB Audio Detection
When enabled, Line2 automatically detects compatible USB headsets when connected.
Notification Device
Choose which speaker plays incoming call and message notifications.
This can be different from your call audio device.
Quiet Mode
Disables Line2 notification sounds while keeping the application active.
Troubleshoot Common Issues
I Can't Hear the Other Person
Check the following:
- Speakers or headset are connected.
- Volume is turned up.
- Correct output device is selected in Line2 Audio Settings.
- Device is not muted in Windows.
The Other Person Can't Hear Me
Check the following:
- Microphone is connected and working.
- Correct input device is selected.
- Windows microphone permissions are enabled.
- Another application is not using the microphone.
Poor Call Quality
If audio sounds robotic, delayed, or cuts in and out:
- Verify your internet connection.
- Move closer to your Wi-Fi router.
- Pause large downloads or streaming activity.
- Disconnect and reconnect Bluetooth devices.
- Restart the Line2 application.
Many call quality issues are related to network connectivity rather than the application itself.
App Won't Launch
Try the following:
- Restart Windows.
- Confirm you have administrator permissions.
- Temporarily disable antivirus or firewall software.
- Launch Line2 again.
If the issue continues, reinstall the application.
Reinstall the Line2 Windows App
Reinstalling the app can resolve many startup, performance, and configuration issues.
Close the Application Completely
- Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete.
- Select Task Manager.
- Open the Processes tab.
- Locate Line2.exe.
- Select End Task.
Uninstall the App
- Open Windows Settings.
- Navigate to Apps.

Restart Your Computer
