Managing Your Call Settings
In the Call Settings menu, you can configure your outbound Caller ID and customize exactly what callers experience when an incoming call is being forwarded to you.
Please Note: Due to carrier limitations, outbound and inbound Caller ID cannot be forwarded 100% of the time. We cannot guarantee that the Caller ID will always display properly on every carrier network.
How to Access Call Settings
Log into your Line2 Account Manager
Click on the Settings tab at the top of the dashboard.
From the left-hand sidebar menu, select Call Settings
Default Caller ID
This is the phone number displayed to recipients when you make outbound calls using Line2. You can only choose from current numbers actively on file with your account.
How to Change Your Default Caller ID:
Navigate to the Default Caller ID section.
Click the Edit button on the right side of the box.
Click the drop-down menu and select your preferred number.
Click Save.
Inbound Call Handling
This section allows you to customize the calling experience for both you and your callers during call forwarding.
To modify these settings
Click the Edit button in the top-right corner of the Inbound Call Handling section.
"When someone calls me:"
Choose what your caller hears while the system routes the call to you:
Caller hears ringing only (Default choice shown in image_fb8017.jpg)
Call Screening: Caller hears a personal greeting, the system records the caller's name, and the caller then hears music on hold.
Prompt & Music: Caller hears a greeting prompt followed by music on hold.
Music/Message Only: Caller hears hold music or a custom message only.
Connecting & Ringing: Caller hears "Connecting Call" followed by regular ringing.
"When Line2 forwards a call to my phone:"
Determine how you want the call to connect when it reaches your forwarding device:
Immediately connect the caller to me or my personal voicemail, whichever answers: (Shown in image_fb8017.jpg) This directly connects the call. Note that if you don't answer, your personal cell phone's voicemail may pick up the call instead of your Line2 voicemail.
Require me to press a key to accept the call: This ensures that if you don't manually accept the call, missed calls are forced to go to your Line2 voicemail rather than your personal mobile voicemail.
"When Line2 calls me during Call Forwarding, the Caller ID should be:"
Control what you see on your phone screen when an incoming Line2 call is forwarded to you:
The caller's phone number: See the actual phone number of the person trying to reach you (Shown in image_fb8017.jpg).
My Line2 phone number: See your own Line2 number on your screen, letting you know instantly that the incoming call is a business call.
