Access Phone System
- Log in Line2 Account Manager
- From Dashboard select Manage Auto Attendant
Enable Your Phone System
By default, the phone system feature may be set to Disable as shown in image
Toggle the radio button from Disable to Enable.
A confirmation modal will appear warning you: "Enabling your Phone System will activate a Welcome Greeting and you will be asked to create extensions. Do you wish to proceed?"
Click YES to activate the phone system for your assigned number.
Configure Your First Extension
Once enabled, the system will immediately prompt you with the Create First Extension wizard
Fill out the required details:
Extension Types: Standard (Default)
Phone System: Displays your active phone system line.
Extension:* Enter a 1 to 6 digit number (e.g.,
1).Extension Name:* Enter a name for the extension (e.g.,
Test). This name is used for the Company Directory listing.Assign Extension to: Select the specific user who will receive calls routed to this extension.
Advanced Features (Optional)
Before hitting next, you can click the Advanced Features dropdown link to reveal additional optimization settings:
Set as Fax Recipient: Check this box to deliver all faxes for the Phone System to the assigned user.
Enable Call Queuing: Loops calls continuously through your Forwarding Table until the user answers.
Enable Company Directory: Allows incoming callers to search for this user by typing or speaking their Extension Name.
Click NEXT when you are ready to save.
Update Your Welcome Greeting
After successfully adding the extension, you will see an Extension Added confirmation window
Click YES to go directly to the greeting settings and record/update your audio menu.
Click NO if you want to update it later. Check the "Do not show this again" box if you prefer to bypass this reminder in the future.
Additional Auto Attendant Features
Enable Company Directory
Company Directory allows callers to search by Extension Name
- Log into Line2 Account Manager
- From Dashboard select Manage Auto Attendant
- Click on Edit next to the extension you want to add a feature too.
- Select the checkbox to enable company directory.
Enable Call Queuing
- Log into your Line2 Account Manager
- Select Manage Auto Attendant
- Click on Edit next to the extension you want to add a feature too.
- Select the box next to Call Queuing
Call Queuing will cycle calls continuously until someone answers.
