Line2 App for Android: Install, Set Up and Troubleshooting

Install

  1.  Click Here https://www.line2.com/apps-up/
  2. Tap Install and follow the on screen prompts to grant permissions and install Line2


Enable Permissions 

  1.   Go to your device's settings app
  2.   Tap on Application Manager
  3.   Search for and Tap on Line2
  4.  Tap Permissions
  5.  Ensure microphone, storage and contacts are set to ON

Enable Notifications 

  1.  Go to Android Settings 
  2.  Tap on Application Manager 
  3.  Select Line2 
  4.  Choose Notifications 
  5.  Ensure all notifications are turned on 


Customizing Notification and Ring Sounds
Line2 App for Android allows you to customize the notification and ring sounds to make it easier to tell when you're receiving a Line2 call or text.  To customize these sounds:
 

  1. Open the Line2 app on your Android device
  2. Tap on the menu icon (or button, depending on your device)
  3. Tap on Settings
  4. Tap on Notifications
  5. Choose what type of notifications you'd like to receive 
  6.  Tap on Ringtone or Message sound to choose a new sound. 

(If prompted, choose Media Storage to complete the action)

Enable/ Disable Persistent Notifications

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications
  2. Toggle the switch to the right of Persistent notification


Set to Vibrate

  1. Enabling Vibrate
  2. Go to Settings
  3.  Notifications
  4.  Vibrate



Enable Quiet Mode

  1.  Go to Settings 
  2.  Notifications
  3. Toggle the switch on the right:

Add E911 Address

Helpful Hint: The first time you log-in to your Line2 App you will be automatically prompted to enter your E911 Address. You can either add your address or decline. Skipping this step will mean no address is added for 911 services and you should NOT use Line2 for a 911 call.

  1. Click Ok when E911 Pop Up Appears
  2. Click Edit in upper right corner
  3. Enter the required information
  4. Click Done


Decline to add your E911 Address

  1. Click Cancel on upper left corner
  2. Prompt will pop up Acknowledge or Update
  3. Click Acknowledge


Update your e911 Address

  1. Tap the menu icon (3 vertical dots) in the upper right-hand corner
  2. Click Settings
  3. Go to Account
  4. Click on your Line2 Number
  5. Scroll down to E911 Address and click Update Emergency Address
  6. Enter the address where you want emergency services sent if you call 911
  7. Press Done

Troubleshoot 

Uninstall Line2 App 

  1. Go into your Android device settings
  2. Tap Applications
  3. Tap Applications Manager
  4. Locate and tap on Line2
  5. Tap Uninstall

After you have completed you uninstall, please re-install the Line2 app.
