If callers cannot hear you or you are having trouble routing your audio on your iPhone or iPad, use this guide to configure your wired headset, Bluetooth devices, or built-in iOS microphone permissions.
Using a Wired Headset
Secure the Connection: Ensure your headset is completely plugged into your iOS device's Lightning port, USB-C port, or headphone jack. A loose fit can disable the microphone or keep audio routed through the phone's internal speakers.
Microphone Placement: Speak directly into the inline microphone and ensure it isn't muffled by clothing or long hair.
Using a Wireless (Bluetooth) Headset
Enable iOS Bluetooth: Go to your iPhone/iPad Settings > Bluetooth and ensure Bluetooth is turned ON.
Verify Active Connection: Confirm that your specific headset (e.g., AirPods) is actively connected to your iOS device and hasn't accidentally paired with a nearby Mac or iPad.
In-App Audio Routing: During an active Line2 call, tap the Audio/Speaker icon on the call screen to ensure audio is routed to your Bluetooth device rather than the iPhone receiver or speakerphone.
Allowing iOS Microphone Permissions
If you are using your device's built-in microphone and callers cannot hear you, the Line2 app likely lacks the proper iOS privacy permissions.
How to Enable the Microphone on iOS:
Open the native iOS Settings app.
Scroll down to the bottom section where your apps are listed alphabetically and tap on Line2.
Locate Microphone under the Allow Line2 to Access section.
Tap the toggle switch so it turns Green (ON).
Tip: If the toggle is already green but callers still can't hear you, try toggling it OFF, waiting 5 seconds, and toggling it back ON to refresh the iOS privacy handshake.
